A. Response of Children to Tragedy, Trauma, and Terror
Children display unique responses at various developmental stages. This workshop will examine their responses to trauma. Post traumatic stress disorder, crisis response, risk management and other clinical manifestations will be discussed, as well as intervention strategies and user-friendly program design. Trauma work impacts staff, manifested in compassion fatigue, and burnout.

B. Ethics in Providing Services to Clients
Often as administrators and in our work with families we are presented with issues where we have to balance one good against another. This interactive workshop will provide some guidelines for ethical decision-making and will apply those principles to actual client situations.

Journeys after Adoption: Understanding Lifelong Issues
This interactive workshop moves beyond the core issues that have framed adoption in recent years and adds another layer of challenges that emerge. The goal is to offer workers insight and practical advice that will enable them to prepare adoptive families, adopted persons and birth parents for the lifelong emotional and psychological journey.
