Review and Selection
Nominations will be judged by a panel of reviewers who reflect
knowledge and expertise in family support, advocacy, working with diverse cultures,
community-building, and developing outcomes measurements. Nominations will be scored
on the basis of how well the nominee meets the award selection criteria described
below.
The program should:
- Support the capacity of families to improve their economic stability and success
- Foster partnerships and build relationships within the community via neighbors, parishes, volunteers, or other community structures that support family strengthening
- Incorporate input from participants both initially and in an ongoing way in the development of program goals, program design, and redesign
- Empower families to overcome barriers that restrict their personal growth
- Empower families to advocate for themselves and on behalf of others in the neighborhood
- Connect families to the resources they need to succeed and raise healthy and successful children
- Use outcomes to measure the impact and improve overall initiative
