Review and Selection

Nominations will be judged by a panel of reviewers who reflect knowledge and expertise in family support, advocacy, working with diverse cultures, community-building, and developing outcomes measurements. Nominations will be scored on the basis of how well the nominee meets the award selection criteria described below.

The program should:

1. Support the capacity of families to improve their economic stability and success
2. Foster partnerships and build relationships within the community via neighbors, parishes, volunteers, or other community structures that support family strengthening
3. Incorporate input from participants both initially and in an ongoing way in the development of program goals, program design, and redesign
4. Empower families to overcome barriers that restrict their personal growth
5. Empower families to advocate for themselves and on behalf of others in the neighborhood
6. Connect families to the resources they need to succeed and raise healthy and successful children
7. Use outcomes to measure the impact and improve overall initiative
