Hotel

The Netherland Plaza, located across from Fountain Square, is the hub for downtown Cincinnati’s convenient Skywalk System. Shopping, dining and entertainment venues abound just outside the doors. Recently renovated hotel guest rooms will give you luxurious sleeping accommodations along with high-speed Internet access. Other hotel amenities include complimentary access to the 13,000 square-foot health and fitness center located in the lower level. This beautiful, historic hotel built in 1931, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the world’s finest examples of French Art Deco architecture in existence. A full-service hotel, the Hilton Netherland Plaza boasts three in-hotel dining opportunities. The Grille at Palm Court is a casual dining atmosphere serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Travel and Airport Shuttle

The Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (airport code CVG) is located just 12 miles (15 minutes) from the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. All major airlines fly into Cincinnati with Delta Air Lines having the second largest hub in the United States located in Cincinnati. Book your reservations early to capture the best rates. Once you arrive in Cincinnati you have several options to reach our conference hotel. Taxi fares one-way to the downtown area are currently $24. If you prefer to rent a car HERTZ is offering special discounted rates. You may reserve a car by calling within the United States and Canada at 1-800-654-2240 and reference Meeting Number CV#03UY0002. A printable flyer with rates and types of cars available can be accessed on our web site. A third option to reach our conference hotel is to book a reservation with Airport Executive Shuttle. a pre-booked, round trip ticket is $24. Reserve by calling (800) 990-8841 and advise the agent you are with the Catholic Charities USA conference. If you do not pre-book your reservation, you can still use the shuttle service but a higher price will prevail. All ground transportation options

Continuing Education Units/Certificate Of Attendance

In an effort to make your attendance at the Catholic Charities USA Annual Gathering even more beneficial, we have arranged for CEU credits through the Catholic University of America School of Social Work in Washington, DC. In your conference tote bag will be a form for you to gather appropriate signatures from the sessions you attend. Directions on how and where to submit the form will be on the material in the tote bag. After the conference, all full-fee paid registrants will be mailed a Certificate of Attendance. This certificate along with the registration brochure can be submitted to your local accrediting bodies for possible credit.

Weather and Conference Attire

Mid-September along the great Ohio Valley should be pleasant during the day and cool in the evenings. A light jacket or sweater along with an umbrella for emergencies is recommended. We encourage you to dress in business casual as you attend sessions and other events. Comfortable walking shoes might be helpful as this is a pedestrian-friendly city.

Registration

Take advantage of the early registration deadline for best savings. Register online at www.catholiccharitiesusa.org/gathering, by mail, or to the secure fax at the National Member Service Center at (703) 549-1728. Registrations or faxes must be postmarked by the deadline dates to secure the discounted rate. The one registration fee covers the entire gathering starting on Thursday, September 13 at 11:30 am with lunch and ending Sunday, September 16 at noon with boxed lunches to go. The fee does not include the optional gala event being held at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center on Saturday evening, September 15 nor the Council on Accreditation training on Wednesday, September 12.

You may attend ANY session or event listed in the program between the above dates with the exception for those marked “Section Member Only.” Then you must be a member of that Section in order to participate. As you register, be aware that on Friday, September 14 during section day, some program times overlap. Plan your day accordingly.

Group Discounts

Agencies sending four or more participants at the full conference fee are eligible for $10 discount per person. Each person must complete the registration form, subtract the discount from the total fee for each person, and submit all forms together via mail or fax. You may also register your group online. One day registrations, spouses, speakers, and guests are not eligible for the group discount.

Refunds

Registration fees will be refunded in full, LESS A $50 PROCESSING FEE, with a written notification postmarked by Friday, September 7, 2007. Refunds are not given for no-shows. Substitutions are accepted with written notice, faxed or emailed to astinger@catholiccharitiesusa.org. No refund requests can be taken via phone and all refunds will be processed after the Annual Gathering.

Special Requests

Catholic Charities USA will make every effort to accommodate any special requirements in order for an attendee to fully enjoy our conference. If you need special physical considerations or dietary needs please check the special box on the registration form and we will contact you to make the necessary arrangements.

Emergency Contact

Many types of emergencies can happen when you are away from home. Catholic Charities USA would like to be able to contact your family members quickly so we are creating a special file to have on hand during the conference with emergency name and phone numbers for all registered attendees. Please provide us with emergency contacts and phone numbers on your registration form. This is important and critical information! As with all our proprietary information, it will remain confidential. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

During the gathering, you may be photographed, videotaped, and/or recorded. By your attendance or participation at the gathering, you agree that Catholic Charities USA may photograph, copy, record and/or distribute in any such form, your participation and involvement in any gathering session, activity, or event. No person or organizations other than Catholic Charities USA may photograph, audiotape, or videotape any portion of the gathering without prior written permission by Catholic Charities USA.
